Coach Nate Medic-2026's Asst. Goalies/Defense
Coach Medic is in his third season with YJMA. Head Coach for Colonial Forge High School and PE teacher. He brought Colonial Forge Varsity Lacrosse team to it first VA State Championship appearance in 2021. Coached for several travel club teams before making the HIVE his club lacrosse program his homes. He is instrumental in providing players the proper feedback.

Coach Olivia O'Brien-Draw Specialist
O'Brien broke GMU school record for most draw controls in a single season with 99. She was a late start to lacrosse but she proves that hard work pays off because she worked her way to a starter. She finished her 5th year playing and starting for GMU. Ranked in the top 25 nationally for draw controls per game and also had 35 goals. Team Captain from 2020-2022 and the Amiee Willard Award in 2021.

Coach Marc Jimenez-2026's
Marc has over 20 years of coaching experience. His knowledge and passion for the game is tremendous. Marc's daughter Daniella is an outstanding player for the NOVA/PWC area and is in the HIVE! Marc has incredible offensive and dodging knowledge. His strong coaching presence is invaluable for players who want to learn correct form and advance moves. Marc joined our staff as the 2023 Coach but he supports all offensive players in the HIVE!

Coach Corky Sturtevant-2024's Asst.
Coach Corky is the founder and wrote the program for RunFit-Kidz ten years ago. This program is built around Educating, Fostering and Promoting the Benefits of Running and Healthy Living to Children. Corky is a positive coach who brings a wealth of knowledge about conditioning, agility training, and the importance of players learning the game. She takes the time to educate players on cutting, spacing, timing, and executing plays. Corky instills the true value of learning the game and players having a strong lacrosse IQ. She is currently the assistant coach for West Springfield and previously coached for Stars and SYA. Corky also has a daughter who is committed to play D1 Lacrosse for Delaware.

Coach Mike Rosenburg-2024's
Coach Mike is an assistant coach for Battlefield High School and has coached for over ten years at the rec and HS level. He also has a daughter who played for D1- Radford University. His personal athletic career was playing major league baseball as a pitcher. Mike also brings the humor and fun to players and coaches.

Coach Amy Coffin-2028's
Coach Coffin began her lacrosse career locally at West Springfield HS and secured a scholarship
at Virginia Tech when they transitioned to a D1 program. Coach Coffin (Amy Mantooth), was an
offensive leader from day one and is still listed as one of the top scorers. She was a 4-year
starter, Team Captain, recipient of multiple awards and most recently, in 2018, was named as
one of the top 25 players to graduate from the Virginia Tech D1 program.
Coach Coffin began her coaching career at Ft.Hunt in 2000 when she took her G78 team to win
the championship. (It still remains the highlight of her entire lacrosse career). From there, she
became the Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Bishop Ireton, where she led the successful team
for 6 years until her first son was born. Three children later, she jumped back into the
coaching world in 2015 and began her 8 year+ commitment at SCAA. Coach Coffin is currently
the chairman of SCAA, which oversees 11 sports and is also the Lacrosse Commissioner and a
Head Coach. Outside of lacrosse, she spends her time with her family in Mason Neck, Virginia.
She is also an 8-year volunteer leader at AHG, and substitute for 2 local schools. Outside of her
volunteer work, she works closely with non-profit companies to provide housing for at-risk
Veterans in one of her multiple rental properties. Her favorite hobbies besides lacrosse are
boating, snow skiing, tap dancing and being with her family!
According to Coach Coffin, playing the sport of lacrosse has been instrumental in her life and
she attributes her successes to not only her family, but learning how to work together as a
team. Learning to win, loose, to set and accomplish goals, to fall short of goals, and to keep
waking up each morning with purpose and never giving up is the cornerstone to a successful
life; being a youth coach is a title she holds with great pride.

Coach Casey Golden-2025's Asst. & YJ-Futures Coordinator
Coach Golden has developed the YJ-Futures in Great Falls VA. He is also the assistant coach to the 2025-Hoeg team. Golden is also the Great Falls Girls Commissioner and youth coach.

Coach Linley Tirrell-2028's Asst.
Coach Linley is in her senior year at Radford University. She is an attacker who is from the NOVA area and is the sister to Hannah Tirrell. Linley has been coaching during all her college breaks and will return. We are excited to watch Linley play her last season at Radford.

Afton Willson- 2028
Afton Willson is a William and Mary lacrosse alum. She works in the area for US News and World Report, relaying information to hospitals on how their ranking was determined. Afton is excited to work with the 2028 team as she is a fun spirited and well versed coach. She brings a positive attitude and lots of knowledge to the team. Afton is also a High School referee in the area and enjoys games where YJMA players are participating.

Coach Hannah Tirrell-2027's
Coach Hannah played a 5th year at Longwood University as a defender and was a two year captain. She previously was a Stars coach and has been coaching throughout her HS and College lacrosse career. Hannah is able to bring intensity and really enjoys coaching players up.
